Splash texts, or just "splashes" for short, are little messages that will show up under the search bar of the homepage. A new one will appear every now and then. Splash texts will be suspended out of respect for tragic events.
After an update to SearXNG changed the way built-in plugins work, plugins were disabled for a while due to me not re-configuring them. I finally got around to it, and now built-in plugins work again. In case you didn't know, SearXNG has a number of built-in plugins: Calculator
